Ingredients
  

  • 2 frozen waffles
  • 30 g butter softened
  • 100 g caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 250 ml flour
  • 15 ml baking powder
  • 125 ml milk

Honey butter drizzle

  • 80 g butter
  • 80 g honey

Instructions
 

For the cake

  • Preheat the oven to 180℃
  • Prepare an 18cm cake tin by spraying with cooking spray. Place one waffle at the bottom of the tin
  • In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar, then beat in the egg
  • Sift in the dry ingredients and fold in alternating with the milk to make a batter.
  • Pour the batter onto the waffle and place the second waffle on top.
  • Bake for about 30 minutes or until a skewer comes away clean.

For the drizzle

  • Melt the butter and honey in a saucepan or in the micro.
  • As soon as the cake comes out of the oven poke holes through the top (so that the drizzle can get through to the cake layer and drizzle the honey butter over.
  • Serve hot with custard.
