Chocolate Chip Cookies
Amy’s famous cookies. I am not too sure where the original recipe for these came from, but Amy (that worked for me for some years) made them FAMOUS!
The trick to these is baking them just the right length of time. Too long and they are very crisp and too short they fall apart. These are the Goldilocks cookies.
Amy's Chocolate Chip Cookies
The most popular of all the cookies we serve!
Ingredients
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¾ cup treacle sugar
- 1 cup butter soft
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 egg
- 2 ¼ cup flour
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped nuts optional
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C
- Beat the sugars, butter, vanilla and egg
- Add dry ingredients and mix well
- Add nuts and choc chips
- Spoon onto a baking tray (lined) leaving lots of space between to allow spreading
- Bake for about 10 minutes, the cookies won't be crisp when then are removed from the oven
- Leave to cool on tray
